I like to read Harry Potter because it's one of those books that make you want to be there. I preferred non-fiction books, as I got older.  I like to feel like I’m actually in the situation the characters are going through. My all time favorite books are the Harry Potter novels. My favorite author is J.K. Rowling because she writes her stories with creativity and imagination.  I recommend books that the person can relate to.  Click to read my review of The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.

Aaron C.

I really enjoy the Sci-fi books, though I like the occasional fantasy. The fantasy can't be overboard with shoes growing on trees  or something crazy like that. If I really like the book I'm reading, I will usually brag about it to my friends, like " There goes his head! Oooooh, now his leg!" My favorite books of all time are probably Ender's Game and Eragon, though any hack and slash books will do. For the timid, but adventurious readers, I would recommend Eragon, and for the sci-fi violent readers, they should go with Ender's Game.

Abbey (and her dog, Salinger)

As a vivid reader, I look for suspense at the end of every chapter. Also, a book that doesn't paint a picture in my head is hard for me to read. I prefer romance, drama, realistic fiction, and adventure. My favorite books are Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling, and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Click here to read my P.S. I Loathe You.

ABC (and her dog, Chloe, and cat, Fletcher)

I like books that make me think. I prefer realistic fiction and nonfiction. I'm a sap for books about dogs (except for the end). My three favorite all-time books are The Giver by Lois Lowry, From Here to Eternity by James Jones, and Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss. As a teacher I look for books that will engage my students through strong writing, interesting characters and a non-predictable plot. Click here to read my review of The Outlaws of Sherwood.  And, yes, those are my real initials.

Abdi

I don’t like many books because in almost every book the good guys win. I like books that suck you in and make me stay up all night. The books I read have big cliff hangers at the end, like in The Time Machine the man goes back or maybe to a different time. My favorite author is R.L. Stine. The books I like are horrors like Goosebumps. I recommend ALL Goosebumps, Coraline, kinda Harry Potter, The Time Machine, and most sci-fi thrillers.  Click here to read my review of The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.

I like books that are challenging and funny.  I prefer non-fiction books.  I feel relax when I read book.  I don’t have a favorite author.  And I recommend hard challenging books for people for my age.  And I don’t have a favorite book.

Alli

I like fantasy, adventure, action, comedy, and mystery books. When I read a book I want to be so absorbed in it that I don't know where I am or what time it is. To make me feel like I'm in the book and to not know what comes next. My favorite books of all time are the Twilight series, the Harry Potter series and The Giver! The Giver is a good book. I like a lot of different books by a lot of different authors. Thats what I like and a lot more that I can't think of right now.

Ana

The genres that I mainly prefer are fantasy or historical fiction. While reading I can, depending on the author, usually be pulled into the  story and follow it even when it is pretty confusing. Some of my favorite authors are L. M. Montgomery, who wrote the Anne of Green Gables series, J. K. Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter series, and Elizabeth Kay who wrote The Divide Trilogy.  To anybody that enjoys a good fantasy story, I would recommend the three authors above.

Hinton.  She wrote The Outsiders, That Was Then This is Now and Rumble Fish which are some of my other favorite books.  If you enjoy fast moving, action packed and emotionally charged books you’ll love any of the books I have recommended above.  Click here to read my review of The Outsiders.

Anneliese

My favorite genres are mystery and fantasy. My favorite books are Peter and the StarcatchersKira-KiraThe Inheritance Series, and the Molly Murphy Mysteries. My favorite authors are Christopher Paolini and JRR Tolkien. I like to get lost in a book, not to be called out except at the mention of food. I recommend these kinds of books, although you don’t have to be called out by food. Click here to read my review of Eragon.

Anthony A.

The main genres that I prefer are action and mystery books.  I love books that give you a cliff hanger at the end of each chapter.  Well I like to be calm because when I am relaxed it feels like I read better that way.  My all time favorite book is Little Bill because Little Bill always makes something out of nothing. My favorite author is Dr. Seuss because it is very cool how he makes up words and makes them rhyme. I would recommend The Giver—that is the most interesting book I ever read.

Anthony H.

I like books that end with cliffhangers. I prefer realistic fiction books but if other people recommend it or it looks good I will give it a try. My three favorite books are Eagle Strike, Where the Red Fern Grows, and the Curious George books. I love books with a writing style and use of details so good that it makes you feel like your in the story. I prefer action, horror, comedy, and books could happen in real life for example… Where the Red Fern Grows.  Click here to read my review of Skeleton Key by Anthony Horowitz.

Ari (and her dogs, Mandy and Venus)

My name is Ari. I enjoy many different types of books but my favorites are fantasy and realistic fiction. I really like series because I hate when really good books end. When I read I like books that make me feel like I am there with the characters or better yet one of them. I like when books make me cry or make me can’t help but smile, also ones that teach me a lesson or a fiction story that has nonfiction moral. I have many favorite books but my favorites so far are the Twilight saga, the Eragon series, Tale of Despereaux, and The Chronicles of Narnia, which I really enjoy because it is a metaphor for the story of Jesus Christ, which is of big importance to me. My favorite authors consist of C.S. Lewis, Stephenie Meyer, and Kate DiCamillo. I would recommend any of the books that I enjoy and if you are a usual non-fiction reader I would recommend a fictional story; they can be a lot more entertaining.

Audrey (and her cat)

I love books that are realistic fiction but I also love a good fantasy book. Personally books that make me think and use my brain are better off for school, but books that are love stories and make me cry are just right for me. When I read a good book I love to wish I was the person in the book, or some thing that makes me mad and never want to be them. the Twilight saga, PerfectGathering Blue, and The Giver are my all time favorite books! I do like almost all kinds of books so I like all kinds of authors and couldn’t have one that I think is the best, even though Stephnie Meyer is amazing. To me books are a personal thing, but I would recommend realistic books to people who don’t like to read and then move on to fantasy, after that that person will love to read just like me. Austin

I love suspense/action books and comedy stories. I also like books with sublime foreshadowing. I challenge myself to figure out big secrets before I read them. I have lots of favorite books, but the best would be Spud by John Van de Ruit, The Life and Times of Thunderbolt Kid by Billy Bryson, and Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz.

Bailey

I like books that have adventure, and action. I usually only like books that are fiction because most books that are nonfiction don’t have  enough action to keep me wanting to read the book for very long. My favorite book of the month is, yes—you guessed it—Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I usually find the books I read by my friends of family recommending them to me.

Ben E.

I like fiction, non-fiction, and sci-fi books. My favorite types of books are fantasy, mystery, and realistic fiction where I can relate to the characters.  When I read these genres, I like to feel a variety of feelings: sad or crying, happy and laughing, angry at a certain character, or just being able to know that you experience some of the same events as someone in the book. My favorite books are the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Some of my favorite authors are Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, and Lauren Myracle. Being a student, I would recommend stories that you would enjoy. Everyone is different, and that’s why there are so many books in the world. You are what you read.

Beth D.

I like the action, fiction, magical books.  I even like to write them.  I like when I am pulled into the story like I am there, walking in the character's shoes.  I even like horror in my books and some romance too.  I like books that also have twists and turns.  As a reader I look for that spark that brings me into the book that I can find interesting usually within the first sentence to the first page.  Click here to read my review of The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis.

I like fiction and realistic fiction. I like fiction books because you can know that it can’t happen to you but is a fun story usually full of action and excitement.  I like realistic fiction books because the stuff in those books can happen to you and it is easier to see what it would be like in their shoes. I like to get to know the characters of the book and to feel what they feel. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series. I like these books because I feel as though I know the people and they are my friends, or in some cases my worst enemy. I love the way J.K. Rowling tells you about every character and you get to know them and cry when something happens.  I recommend books like Harry Potter and Twilight.

Jessica (and her dog, Baby)

I like almost any type of book with adventure, fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, and some mystery. I like a good book that can make you laugh, cry, and it wouldn’t hurt if there were a bit of murder in the book too. Thankfully I have found a series to fit my needs; The Private series always keeps you guessing and is the best series I have ever I read and it includes the drama and scandal that I love in a book. I find that if I’m not reading The Private Series my other favorite books include dogs, for example The Dogs Of Babel, andThe Curious Case of the Dog in the Night Time, and of course The Twilight Saga which you can never put down, and can always read again.

I like books but they have to really "get" me to finish them. I love them in the beginning but then I find a new book that I love and so I never seem to finish some. When I find a "really" good book, I mean really good, I'll read it all the way through.  I mainly prefer books that are fiction, autobiographies, and page turners.  My all time favorite books are: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Miles To Go by Miley Cyrus, Confessions of a Shopoholic by Sophie Kinsella and The Lorax by Dr. Suess. The genre I prefer is fiction adventure because it makes me think about made up adventures and I try to tie them to real life situations. Two of my all-time favorite authors and series are the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Marcus (and his cat, Gracie)

I prefer reading books that include people getting into a lot of trouble and having to solve their issues in order to move on in life.  When reading a book that is not very interesting, I feel like putting it down and picking it up again, but when I am reading a good book I do not want to put it down.  Some of my all-time favorite books include many Louis Sachar books, such as HolesSmall Steps and the Wayside series.  My two favorite authors are Louis Sachar and Ben Mikaelsen.  I like to recommend books that are cliffhangers.  To read my review of Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen, click on the link.

Maren C.

My favorite book is breaking dawn, from the twilight saga, there is so much love and passion that you really cannot put the book down, also there is a little to much blood and fighting in it but that’s what makes the book exhilarating. The type of book I really like is one that you can’t put down because when I was younger I hated reading, I would never even look at a book but now that I have read the Twilight saga I read all the time! Running, I feel like I am running with the character in the book, running from danger, I like those books.  I like the way Stephanie Meyer writes because she writes like she's writing a poem, all the words flow together and every letter has a meaning. Another book I really like is The Host, also by Stephanie Meyer.

Maren M. (and her dog, Cheyenne)

I enjoy books that I can relate to, but are not necessarily non-fiction. I also enjoy books that are about animals, especially dogs and horses (they can be fiction and non-fiction). I like those types of books because as I said before, I can relate to them. When reading a book, I like it when I feel as though I am in  the book, not really knowing what is going on around me in the real world. Some books I like are Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry. I also like Marley and Me (my reviewed book) by John Grogan and many more that I really cannot remember at the moment. Trying to recommend books for others is hard for me because everybody likes something different, but if I really have to I would recommend animal books because those are the kinds that I like.

Margaret

I love books that make me fee like I’m in the story, like I’m the main characters shadow.  I can’t read books that have way too many characters. My favorite books are The Cay, The Witches, and Touching Spirit Bear. Click hear to see my review of The Breadwinner.

Marissa

I like to read books that take you to a different world so you forget everything that is going on in your own world. My favorite genres are fiction, mystery and historical fiction. My all time favorite books are The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare, Flush by Carl Hiaasen, and the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. I recommend books that you can't put down, that take you to another place and make you use your imagination.

Martin

My favorite kinds of books are ones that make you think, like sci-fi and nonfiction. I personally don’t have a favorite author because almost anything I read I don’t pay attention to the author. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series.

Matt

Max

My favorite types of books are in the genres of science fiction, fiction and realistic fiction. I like to feel at the edge of my seat when I am reading a book wondering what will happen next. My all time favorite books are Skeleton Key and Point Blank, but I do not really have any favorite authors. Books that I would recommend to others are books with cliffhangers and books that make you think.

Meg M.

I like books that are suspenseful, make me think, and always has thing I don’t expect. I like action, mystery, comedy, and some fantasy books. My favorite books are the Twilight saga books, Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets. I like a lot of authors, no one specifically.  And personally I recommend books that you can really get into and read for hours on end, and ones that make you feel like your experiencing everything with the characters because I think that people seem to enjoy books with those.

Megan P.

I as a reader typically prefer book with the genre of action, comedy, and some romance. When I am reading a good book I usually feel excited about what is going to happen next, or sometimes even sad if the book is depressing, but mostly I feel happy. Some of my all time favorite books are The Outsiders, A Dog Called Kitty, Marley and Me, and The tale of Desperaux. The types of books that I recommend to people are action book and romance because then you can always be jumping from one page to another and you can sometimes--even guess what is going to happen next.

Michelle (and her dog)

I like books that make me want to keep on reading. And to make me want to read more, I love to read about realistic books. My favorite books are the Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Outsiders, and of course Twilight. My all time favorite author would have to be S.E. Hinton (the writer of The Outsiders). As a student I would recommend books with action, excitement, and a little romance.

Mike M.

I enjoy books that are full of action and high suspense. I like books that will leave me hanging on for my life at the end of each chapter. Books like Ender’s Game and The Outsiders are the type of books I like. However, I don’t have high expectations when reading a book, this makes it is a simple task to please me. For me the story can be fiction or non-fiction, but the story has to be believable even if it includes super human powers. Books that involve kids around my age are usually more interesting for me.

I like books that intrigue me and don’t let me put them down.  Some of my favorite authors would be Anne M Martin, Lois Lowry, Jerry Spinelli, Meg Cabot, and Stephenie Meyer.  A few of my favorite books are Gathering Blue, Al Capone Does My Shirts, Queen of Babble, and the Twilight Saga.  I read a lot. Usually I bring in a different book every day.  I absolutely despise non-fiction and I cannot stand crappy sci-fi or history books.  I enjoy romance, drama, fantasy and adventure.

Natalie H. (and her dog, Rory)

The books I prefer books that are really funny, but have a lot of action. I also like to feel sad but that laugh reading the next paragraph and I like to relate to the character. Some of my favorite books are Lucky T, Small Steps and Holes by Louis Sachar and all the Wayside School books. I love Dr. Seuss books too. I would recommend these books to a lot of people because they are funny and they don't get boring. Click here to read my review of Marley, a Dog Like No Other by John Grogan.

Natalie R.

As a reader I prefer drama books. But they have to be in series. I like the Clique series by Lisi Harrison. They remind me of regular life for girls. I don’t like Twilight and I am proud of it. click here to read my pan review of Twilight.

Nathan

I like books that are exciting, have some sort of action, and books that make me feel the emotions and make me feel as if I were one of the characters. I prefer realistic fiction and sometimes I enjoy non-fiction. My favorite book is The Outsiders, even though it was an assigned book for the class, it still grabbed my attention and I understood it throughout the whole book and I didn’t ever want to put it down. I recommend books that are interesting and have realistic events because it relates to people because everyone goes through life changes some point in their life and the events can have characters that rally stand out to people who are going through the changes.

Nicholas P.

I like to read books that make me think and keep me excited while I am reading it. I like action and adventure genres. I like books that make me feel happy and excited. My all time favorite books are End War, the Splinter Cell series, and Code Reader. My favorite authors are Shel Silverstein and David Micals. I recommend these books for people who like to laugh and who like to be kept on the edge of your seat.  Click here to read my pan of Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

Niko (and his cat, Webster)

As a reader prefer sci-fi or fantasy because of the what-if factor.
What if magical creatures actually existed in the past, future, or
even now, hiding from humans. What if aliens were discovered in
another part of the Milky Way just a few million billion light years
away from Earth. I personally believe that nothing is impossible, only improbable.   I also like silly books that make me laugh. I like books
that make me think about what is and what could be, and books that
pull me into the action and make me feel like I am a character in the
book. I don’t have a favorite book because I have never found a book
that I like the most and I don’t think that I’ll ever find a book that I
like the most because there are so many. My favorite authors, however,
would probably be Neil Gaiman, J.K. Rowling, Holly Black, and Paul Stewart. I would recommend fantasy and sci-fi to other people who think what if and even though I like fantasy and sci-fi I will read any
genre if it interests me.

Noah

I enjoy books that keep you on your toes throughout the book.  I mostly prefer fiction books and action books.  My favorite books are the Harry Potter series and the Charlie Bone series.  I generally reccomend fiction books and sports books to other people.  Click here to read my review of Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz.

Olivia

I like to read books that have romance, action and some humor. Those kind of books interest me because the romance makes you happy if you like sappy stuff and it is fun to imagine it as you are the one in the book with Prince Charming. The action makes you wanna be there for all the fights, car races and anything else. The humor because who doesn't want a good laugh besides Debby Downer; it's always fun to laugh and to hear funny things.

Owen

I love to read action/adventure books; they get me chained in so that I cannot escape until I finish the book.  It does not matter who the characters are or what the topic is, you hand me one of those books and I’ll read it nonstop.  I prefer realistic fiction and nonfiction books; if they have guns, explosions, car chases, battles, and swords then it’s the book for me.  Some of the books I would recommend to you action lovers are Alex Rider series, written by Anthony Horowitz. You wouldn’t expect and action story to have a big plot but there it is, packed between pages of suspense.  An adventure book I liked was Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. A boy gets into a plane crash and has to survive with only his hatchet.  So yeah I like action/adventure books.

Patricia

I love almost any book/manga if it involves romance, action, fantasy, drama, and adventure. Drama books are not really for me, but I love to read books/manga that have a little because it's more fun than boring facts. If I was to recommend a book for you folks who like some of the themes that I mentioned, then I recommend you to read the Twilight series if you're a teen by Stephenie Meyer, Tail of the Moon by Rinko Uteda, Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino, Meru Puri by Matsuri Hino, Hana Kimi by Hisaya NakajoEureka Seven by Bones, D. N. Angel by Yukiru Sugisaki, Love Attack by Shizuru Seino, Full Moon o Sagashite by Arina Tanemura, Fushigi Yūgi by Yuu Watase, Absolute Boyfriend by Yuu Watase, Her Majesty's Dog by Mick Takeuchi, Chibi Vampire by Yuna Kagesaki, and High School Debut by Kazune Kawahara!!! Stephenie Meyer is one of my favorite authors, but dont expect all books I like to be like that. Out Of The Dust is written in a poem style but is one of my favorites. Fever 1793 is on my list of best books I've read, ever.  Click here to read my book review of Jacob Have I Loved by Katherine Paterson.

I like books that are action packed, fiction, realistic fiction, adventurous, and the ones that are funny.  When I read books like ones that are not predictable, ones that bring you on an adventure, ones that make you feel like you feel like your going to pee your pants because you’re laughing so hard, ones that make you think, ones that are mysterious and action packed, and ones that are heavily detailed.  My all time favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Going Solo, Inkheart, the book thief, and the chronicles of Narnia.  My favorite authors are Roald Dahl, and J.K. Rowling.  I recommend the books that I listed above, and books that give you a thrill, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or even something like The Cat in the Hat if that does it for you.  Click here to read my review of The Mysterious Benedict Society.

I also like novels like the clique series where people also overcome obstacles and rise to the challenge. Click here to read my review of Fever bye Laurie Halse Anderson.

Sam

I prefer books that have an adventurous plot and keep the reader wanting to turn the page.  Nonfiction is my favorite book type, but fiction is fun to read here and there.  My favorite books are Thunder from the Sea by Joan Hiatt Harlow, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling, and Eragon by Christopher Paolini (which I am still reading).  I try to look for books that have a summary which gets me to want to read more about it.  I only like to read books once, so I try to make a wise choice on which book to read next, and since there are so many, I can’t read them all.  You can read my review of Thunder from the Sea.

Senait

I don’t want to admit it but I am a romance junky. Any book that expresses what true love is all about I love. I also love mysteries. Some o f my all time favorite books are The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot, the Heartland series by Lauren Brooke, and Agatha Christie: Masterpieces in Miniature. Rainy days are my favorite days to read it’s just something about sitting by the window with that really great book along with calming sound of rain hitting the ground, the window. As a reader I prefer fiction because you get more into the story. I love books that involve drama--as a teenager you prefer different books and mine's is drama. When I'm reading I like to feel like I'm in the story, like I'm in that person's shoes to see what it would be like and what their everyday life is. My all-time favorite books are Sharon G. Flake's books because all of her books are about drama and teenager girls. I would have to say that  Sharon G. Flake is my all-time favorite author. As a reader I would recommend to try reading diffrent genres from the ones they prefer because you never know what you actually like until you try all there is to try.

When I’m reading a book I like to feel apart of the story, as if I’m a best friend of the main character that never says or does anything. My all time favorite books are Junie. B. Jones!! I think these are the funniest books (who doesn’t?) because I use to do some of the crazy things she did. Click here to read my review of Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelson.
