Breaking Dawn
is the last book of the Twilight saga, and takes you on an adventure that changes Bella Swan’s life forever. Stephenie Meyer continues with the drama that every vampire relationship has through Bella’s eyes.

It all starts when vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen proposes to Bella. They had previously worked out an agreement stating that when Bella marries Edward, only then would he turn her into a vampire. Bella wants to be a vampire so she and Edward can live a long and happy life in peace, without the royal vampire family—The Volturi— trying to kill Bella.

Edward’s sister Alice was allowed to plan Bella’s and Edward’ wedding, and she has a tendency to go overboard. Pretty much every person that Bella had ever met in her life was at the wedding. For the honeymoon, Edward took Bella to a faraway island off the coast of Brazil, called Isle Esme. After only a short time of being at the island, an emergency had them going home. Will this sudden trip back cause Bella to lose her mortality? And will life with her best friend Jacob ever be the same?

I loved reading Breaking Dawn. Even though it is really long you will flip pages for hours on end. In this novel, you are left on the edge of your chair by Meyer’s use of cliffhangers. The characters are explained so well that you will feel like you are involved in the conversations. You will see Alice dancing across the floor, and Edward’s eyes will dazzle you.

Breaking Dawn is mainly for teens and young adults, but I think older people might enjoy it also. You may not understand parts of it if you haven’t read the rest of the series first. There are so many details in it, hat even if you have read the other books, you may get confused. There are three books within Breaking Dawn, book one and three are through Bella’s eyes, and book two is told through Jacob’s eyes.

There are many themes in Breaking Dawn including romance, choice, commitment, determination, and friendship. Romance because of the marriage. Choice because Bella needs to make a choice that will change her life forever. Commitment because they each had a side of a deal that needed to be fulfilled. Determination because Bella is determined to be a vampire before she turns nineteen. And lastly, friendship Breaking Dawn shows the journey that each character goes through, and sequences the ups and downs of friendship.

If you enjoyed Twilight, Breaking Dawn is sure to please. Meyer is currently working on the next book for the saga called Midnight Sun, which is basicallyTwilight, told through Edward’s eyes. Also coming soon is “New Moon,” the movie.
