Ponyboy Curtis is a 15-year-old boy who is poor and is in a gang called Greasers. He has two brothers named Darryl and Sodapop. Ponyboy is like the nice one he really does not fight and he’s like a little follower but more carful of the things he doe’s. They have nice good greasers hair and hate the gang that is called Socs. Socs are rich and don’t care about the poor people or the greasers.

Johnny is the brave one. He saved children out of a burning church. He did something bad and ran away with a gun and some money he got from Dally. Darry Curtis is the oldest out of the Curtis brothers. He works at a gas station after his something bad happened to their parents. Sodapop Curtis is the one that takes both sides when Ponyboy and Darryl are fighting.

If you are a teen or a middle school student you would enjoy reading this. It deals with family, and with friendship. Like there is a lot of drama, but the boys also have a lot of friendship with one another.

S.E. Hinton is the author. She started writing this book when she was 15 years old. She was still in high school. Then she was done publishing this book when she turned 17 years old.

I liked it because it has high school students that are in gangs and did something bad and then comes back as Heroes.
