In the Lost books, Ted Dekker starts a fantastic book series about love, hope, friendship, and bravery.

There is a group called the forest dwellers, which have to bathe in holy water purified by their leader, Elyon.  And the evil Horde, which are a scab people without a care in the world. The “king” of the dwellers, Thomas Hunter, chooses four leaders who are sent on a mission to get a cactus for water.  One of the leaders is johnis.  Along the way, johnis and his friends meet up with two creatures called Gabil and Michal.  The two creatures give the four a secret mission: find the lost books of history.

Dekker shows us more than some general good vs. evil book series of love and the quest for life.  It really catches your eye and takes you along on a very bumpy ride.

My parents wondered why I was reading through the books so fast, I told them, “I felt like I was actually in the books, it felt like real time. It has so much detail I knew the setting around me.  I could picture the characters in high detail like facial features and what they are wearing.”

The book has creatures that want power and go to an enormous extent to do so, but fail.  It has love in it because johnis has love for his mom who is dead and he loves the rest of his family.

I would recommend this book to anyone that has the time to get stuck for hours on end reading this book.  I would also get the rest of the books in the series so you can jump right to the next one.
